The Rotary Club of Knoxville's Arts & Diversity and Literacy Committee hosted 55 Community School of the Arts Students and thier families to the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and provided each student with a dictionary. |

Each year on the anniversary of Rotary's founding, local Rotary clubs undertake projects to improve their communities. This year the Rotary Clubs of Knoxville raised money and provided labor to rehabilitate and improve two playground areas at the Tennessee School for the Deaf. The group also cleaned windows and planted flowering bulbs at the school to improve the landscape. What a great way to celebrate World Rotary Day!!
Special Thanks to all Rotarians, family, and friends who came out to help.

CSA Sees A Christmas Carol |

The Rotary Club of Knoxville hosted about 150 Community School of the Arts students and their families for the matinee performance of "A Christmas Carol." The show was fabulous and all the families we spoke with were delighted to see it and be there! One young man summed it up-when asked what was his favorite part, he said, "Everything!" His brother agreed, except to add "And More!" |

RCK provided funds for our counterparts in Mateszalka to purchase and deliver Christmas gifts to orphaned children. This year members of RCM visited three homes - Nagydobos, a home for mentally handicapped children, Cegenydanyad for whom this was their very first Christmas and the Mateszalka Children's Home. RCM member Sirpa Ihanus expressed her thanks to RCK stating that "they were all deeply touched when (they) saw the huge happiness in (the children's) eyes." |
