The House of Friendship opened at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Rotary International Convention in Singapore.

Representing the Rotary Club of Knoxville are President-Elect Nominee Shannon Holland, Past President Ed Anderson, Board Member-Elect Susan Dakak, and Rush Johnson.

This is Shannon and Ed’s eighth Convention (New Orleans, Lisbon, Atlanta, Toronto, Virtual x 2, Houston), Rush’s second (Atlanta), and Susan’s first.

Saturday evening, the delegation met for dinner at Shisen Hanten, a two-star Michelin restaurant located in the heart of the world-famous Orchard Road shopping district in Singapore. They were joined by Joann Perez, President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Greater Huntsville, Alabama, and Melody St. John, that club’s international projects chair.

The Convention continues Sunday with General Sessions at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The delegation will attend Sunday evening’s Zone 30/31 reception. Zones 30/31 encompass 31 districts in 13 states, and 1450 Rotary clubs with a membership of over 63,000 Rotarians.
